About Forum

May 26–27, 2009 in Khabarovsk city the Khabarovsky krai Government under the patronage of Federal Agency for Tourism and Russian Union of Tourism Industry are organizing VI International Forum of Northeast Asian Tourism (IFNAT) under the motto “Enhancing cultural, business and economic linkages in North-East Asia by taking the initiative in tourism sector”.

The key idea of the Forum is the necessity to elaborate the unified mechanism, principles and conditions for integrating the effort of the regions in North-East Asia (NEA) so as to build the foundation for the unified tourism environment in this region of the world and to ensure subsequent awareness and promotion of its tourism product both in NEA and beyond.  

The Forum is traditionally attended by Representatives of state agencies and businesses from Japan, the People’s Republic of China, the Korean Republic, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the Russian Federation and Mongolia. 

Fifth International Forum of Northeast Asian Tourism (Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia) stressed that the international exchanges and cooperation in tourism need enhancement as to mutual understanding and promotion of cultural, business and economic linkages between the regions of North-East Asia. 

A particular feature of the forthcoming Sixth International Forum of Northeast Asian Tourism will be enhancing tourism initiative of NEA regions in building a common information tourism environment in North-East Asia,  consolidating effort of all players in the development of regional trans-border and cross-border tours as well as forming the executive bodies of the Forum (IFNAT).

The forthcoming Forum on May 27, 2009 plans Russian-Japanese Business Mission under the motto “Partnership in tourism sector as a factor of promoting cooperation between Russia and Japan”. The Business Mission Participants will exchange views on the problematic issues and prospects of developing tourism linkages under the current world finance and economy crisis.   

Representatives of state tourism management agencies, businesses as well as public tourism organizations of Northeast Asian regions are invited to participate in the Forum. 

The Organizers of VI International Forum of Northeast Asian Tourism hope that the forthcoming Forum will help enhance business contacts and will promote new tourism products, will assist in sharing experience and in broader cooperation in the tourism sector of North-East Asia.
